Do marinas in Washington state put red dye in both gasoline and diesel to designate no road tax, or is it just red dye in diesel?

They don't have dyed gasoline as all gasoline in WA state is sold with the road tax that I've ever seen or heard about. Us boaters can file with the state to get a refund. (I file twice a year as it's currently paying out 28 cents a gallon refund). Diesel at a fuel dock is usually dyed diesel and thus, doesn't have the road tax in it.

I've only ever once ran across dyed gasoline at a fuel dock. Prince Rupert, BC had dyed gasoline. Turned the tips of my spark plugs pink.

Sounds like red dye check is a good check to see if it is diesel, yet not fool proof

We buy about a third of the diesel we use at gas stations and pay the state taxes. Even with the state tax the diesel is usually within a few cents of the diesel prices at most marinas in WA. We only infrequently buy WA marina diesel.
We buy about one half of our diesel in Canada out of necessity where it is much more expensive.
Because the mistake of putting gasoline into our tank is so catastrophic, triple checking that we have a diesel hose from a diesel pump is a compulsion for us.
The issue of dye in the diesel is irrelevant to me - I just want it to be diesel.
