Liam Moriarity started reporting for KPLU FM in 1996 as a freelance correspondent for the San Juan Islands, and has been their full-time environment reporter since 2006.

He has started the series "Reflections on the Water: Conversations about the Salish Sea" in June. His conversations with folks who are deeply connected to the Sea are broadcast on KPLU's Morning Edition on Wednesdays at 6:30 and 8:30 a.m.

He blogs about his travels and conversations, from Olympia to Neah Bay to the Campbell River, and you can listen to them here.

Thanks, Bruce.
I read one interview, with the "Father of the Salish Sea," and it opened my eyes to the larger ecological whole.
I wonder what percentage of Ranger Tugs reside in the Salish Sea, as opposed to, say, the rest of the known universe.
My guess is, somewhere between 33 to 50% of Ranger Tugs, but I'll bet Jeff Messmer knows......

As much as I love the name Red Ranger, when I upgrade to a larger Ranger Tug it will have a new name: Salish Searcher.

I love Moriarity's thoughtful reportage.
