I have a 2012 Ranger Tug 27 with a Lewmar P79 transducer that has become unattached. On this older model the transducer is located under the black water tank and is accessed through the rear storage area. Even with everything removed from the storage area and the floor removed, it is still nearly impossible to follow Lewmar’s procedures for accurately re-attaching the transducer. Has anyone relocated their transducer to a more convenient location. I’m considering the starboard storage area near the inverter. I’d love some feedback on this location, other locations, or other solutions to my problem. Thanks!

On my 2011 R27 the Sounder quit and like you was trying to figure out how to acess where it was reported to be. Some one suggested under the Shower Pan as a good relocation. Had a lift scheduled for Bottom paint and was looking at the location under the head sink to see it it would work for a thru hull Tridata transducer. Stuck my head in and found a wire with a tag P79. Followed and found the AirGap was located under the shower pan and found that the cup was dry. Added antifreeze to cup and all works fine. Not sure who or when was installed there, but is a good location
