The cord on our GHS10 is falling apart. Garmin no longer repairs or has replacements. Has anyone tried the GHS11 on a VHF200 radio. Really do not want to buy a new radio.

had the same problem on the fly bridge a couple of years ago. not possible to thread new wire down to the main cabin because the bundle of wires is zip tied and the is simply no room for another wire. my solution was a new radio installed on
fly bridge dash and a new antenna (sp) on the port side of the fly bridge. waste of time to try to repair the old one! Good luck.

The Garmin website shows the GHS 11 is compatible with VHF 210, 215, or 315 radios. So I would guess not with the 200.

I have a spare GHS10 complete for sale. PM me if you're interested.

I use a combination of liquid tape or rubber electrical tape. This seems to be a common problem. You would think garmin would use a better material. I have thought of cutting and replacing the wire. Not sure how many wires are in the cable. Take a look at this. https://www.amazon.com/MC-100-Replacement-Coiled-Microphone-Cord/dp/B07G9P4CB4

Good idea, may try. 12 cond. very hard to terminate on ends.
Thanks for rubber tape and liquid ideas, will try.

My microphone cord suffers from this affliction. I’m planning to apply knotflyin’s solution but cannot remove the cord from the front of the radio. The connector appears to have a knurled nut that holds the mic cable on the radio, but I can’t get it to turn. Does anyone know if the mic and cord is removable from the radio? The manual is no help.

Mine unscrews. I can't remember if it is a lock and twist type. Sometimes you have to push in an turn counterclockwise.

We have a 210 but photos of the 200 look almost identical for the mic connector mechanism -- which has a plastic constrictor ring that unscrews counterclockwise, and then IIRC the mic cable pulls straight out.

We had to replace our mic after a couple of months because the connector elbow was broken. I suspect it got damaged by the dealer (or maybe us). I strengthened the new one with rescue tape after installing.

I would tend to agree with holdendodge that it might be easiest and more future-proof to install a new radio.

Ok, thanks. I’ll try a bigger hammer.
