I just uploaded three pics to my gallery (Pilothouse Table 1, 2, & 3) showing an easy to install table for the pilothouse on my 21ec. I had the Starboard tabletop custom cut by boatoutfitters.com (16" x 16" with 1" radius corners and 1/8" routed edges). The wall mounting bracket is commonly used on RV's (available from rvplus.com. It's a Patrick Metals Table Support 30" cut to size). The support is the same as the chair support available from Ranger Tugs although I ordered the 7/8" ss tubing in a two-foot length from Defender and cut to size. Various ss screws, nuts and bolts from Home Depot.

I really like your table. Great idea. I think I see that you have air conditioning on Your boat. Does it work pretty well?
How long do batteries last etc? Also the AC outlets. Is that factory or aftermarket. My friend in MI who has a 21 EC wants outlets.
Are you from Indiana or Maryland?

Hi Eric,
Thanks for your comments and questions. The air-conditioning works really well, cooling the cabin in about 10 or 15 minutes. I've always run it plugged in to shore power so I don't know first hand how long it would last on the two group 27 batteries. The broker said when I bought the boat that the previous owners told him the batteries would last about a day using the air. Maybe someone else would know better how long they would last(?) The broker also said that the boat was purchased originally at a boat show, and the buyers wanted real shore power. Ranger Tug apparently agreed to install it while they were building the boat, but later said "never again" as it was much more difficult to install than they estimated. It is nice to have for running a space heater on chilly nights.
I was born and raised in New Jersey, but lived in Maryland for about 16 years and did all my boating there. I moved to Indiana about 6 years ago. For the first year I had the 21ec, I kept it in rack storage in Pasadena, Maryland, and drove from Indiana to cruise the Chesapeake. This year, I had the boat shipped to Florida. Been enjoying living aboard this winter in sunny Vero Beach, reading all the reports of snow back home!

Thanks Jim Thats cool you are living aboard.
Eric
