We have a 2012 R29 Classic. The Fusion radio wired remote does not come on. Need advice on how to remove it to inspect connection on the back of the unit. Thanks in advance for any assistance offered.

Check with Fusion. I had the same problem with my 2010 R 29 and resetting the radio brought the remote back to life.

Hello John,

I would try and reset it like stated above but also just so you are aware the remote uses a single wire harness that plugs into the head unit harness. There is no connection on the backside of the remote as it is wired direct. You could also have a bad remote and requires replacement. Fusion does have the ability to update so you may want to try that first, Fusion can walk you through that process. Hope this helps!!

Thanks,

Kevin, thanks for the feedback. I will connect with Fusion.

Kevin, found the fix and will share it with you and others who may have a similar issue with their wired radio remote not coming on. I pulled the radio out to check the wired remote connection to the radio. It had become separated at a connection approximately 12 inches from the back of the radio. Apparently during construction or subsequent instrument install someone got overzealous with the zip ties and the connectors came apart. I simply plugged the connectors back together, taped them for added support and reziptied the loose wires with a little more slack. All was good on Sunny Tug.
