Removing 3M5200 from Swim platform

I am changing our davit setup on the swim platform of our Ranger R31 Tug. The weaver plate was removed but there is a coating of 3M 5200 on the gelcoat. Any suggestions on how to remove this and/or what chemical to utilize?
Secondly, any sealant recommendations for the new install? (I probably shouldn’t have used the 5200 to begin with, but I thought it was going to be permanent.) Thx!

You can do it the old fashion way with a razor blade and acetone . I have used Anti bond Adhesive remover it works well to loosen 5200. West marine sells it. I use my Craftman Multi tool with a scraper blade along with the Anti bond Adhesive remover and it cleans up the 5200 nicely.

You can try M.E.K (methyl ethyl ketone) or Xylene. They are less than $10 at Home Depot. I read a review that MEK worked almost as well as Debond Marine Formula which costs $44. I've used MEK and Xylene to remove polyurethane glue on my inflatable with good results.
