I'm assuming this issue has been addressed before but I couldn't find it when I searched here on TugNuts.

I have a 2018 Cutwater 302 with a Garmin transducer. I longer am getting depth recorded on my Garmin screen. My first "go to" to remedy the situation is to be sure I have enough fluid in my transducer cup. My question is how do I unscrew/remove the lid/cap? I've tried twisting and turning by hand to no avail. There are 6 small Phillips head screws on the perimeter of the cap. Doe these all need to be removed? Any guidance would greatly be appreciated. Thanks in advance.

Maybe your transducer is not mounted in a cup as shown on Brian’s link. If not it is likely just glued to the bottom of the boat. If that’s the case, this type of install is not recommended by Garmin. A cup should be installed.

Unfortunately, my transducer does not look like the one in the technical manual. Mine has 6 small Phillips head screws and the word "Garmin" on the cap/lid. I will keep researching.

Mine has the same 6 screws, yes you have to remove them then it just comes off, no twisting required.

Thank you Jim for the information. Greatly appreciate your assistance.
