Jeff gave me a 10lbs downrigger weight at the rendezvous and we proceeded to catch 10 Coho Salmon with it.
Weighting between 6lbs to 14lbs. Caught them within a 2 miles of our home in a hour and half. Best day of fishing in my life time.

Awesome. Good for you, Dennis!

Now for the rest of the story. Will you tell us what lure combo was used, pretty sure the 10 lb lead ball didn't
catch the coho. That really sounds like a great fishing trip. Congrats!

Hi

I used a Ace high fly with a dodgers. Also use a funky chicken behind a dodgers and finely used a plain herring no
dodger. downrigger was set at 50 ft. I hope this will help anybody going after Coho's.

Back in the early eighties fishing Possession we used dodgers with a yellow fly a green fly, or a cut plug herring.
Now it seems that most folks have downriggers. I pretty much use flashers with either squid os spoons.I like fishing
at 65'. year in year out that depth seems to catch more salmon, but 95' to 120' also works. I hear 150' catches fish, however at that depth you will probably need at least a 15lb weight.

The last two years salmon fishing have been really good. The R-29 equiped with a trolling valve along with the auto pilot with a remote control. I fish alone about half the time and the tug is just so easy to handle.

Good luck
