Repair paint

Team- I'm looking for the beige paint used on the exterior pilot house of the EC21. How and who can I order it from?

I think it's gelcoat, not paint, but I'll defer to others who might be more knowledgeable.

Give Richard a call at Ranger Tug in Kent, he's the parts manager and will get you the proper information for ordering thru RT or so you can purchase locally.

Agree with Jim, contact folks at RT for proper color, etc. However, there is a downside (I think). Gelcoat is now a hazmat item for shipping and must be packaged and transported accordingly. In my case I contacted RT and they put appropriate colors on a tug headed to Reed Yacht Sales located in Lasalle, MI. Reed also has a location in Grand Haven. RT and their dealer network is great and try to help all.

If you get the color you still have to mix it with gelcoat and hardner to do a patch. And the hazmat shipping is an issue even with the color, but as other posts have said you can try getting it with another boat shipment.

Thanks all! I'm not making a repair, so I really just need the color specs. I'm painting a jet ski to match the tug. A tender of sorts. I may be able to photograph existing color and have color matched (close enough) at a local painter supply store. I was hoping Ranger had either the color or sample chips.

When I received my R21-EC, I received a gel coat repair kit in a cardboard box. Did you get one also? It should have a jar of the color you need.

Thanks Rick for that info. Unfortunately I did not receive that kit. I'll go through Ranger to see if its still available.
