I am about to haul my R23 and replace the gear case on the 110TT Bow Thruster ---I looking for any videos or advise/insight from anyone who has done this replacement. Hopefully the plan is to haul the boat and reinstall a new unit on the same day
I have previously removed the (4) -1/2" bolt electric motor assembly-- so that does not appear to a problem--- I was then able to access the 2 hex nut fixing bolts to the gear case and loosen one of them easily.
1.The new gear box 589454 does not come with mounting saddle and there are no leaks now--
Can I assume that when I remove the old gear case w/gasket-- that I will not disturb the mounting saddle and I will able to leave it place and reuse It?
2. I will be doing this operation by myself--
Can I assume that the only time I will need help is when someone positions the new gear case unit in the thruster tunnel outside the boat -while I insert the 2 hex bolts into the new gearcase unit?
Any thoughts/comments appreciated.
