Thought I’d share my experiences from today where I replaced the base assembly of the raritan seaera which is installed in the cutwater 28.

My unit was 10 years old and recently had decided to start blowing a fuse on use immediately when pressing the button. It wasn’t Clogged and therefore the assumption was the motor had failed.
Bearing in mind it’s age and these toilets being made largely of plastic. I decided that the easier fix was to order the base assembly vs all the separate parts. Plus I was a rookie and was looking for the easiest path.

All in all it took about 2 hours to pull the old unit and replace.

My approach was

Seacock off
Drain bowl and macerator as best as possible with a Turkey baster - worked surprisingly well.
Loosen bowl nuts
Remove bowl and fitting for bowl ingress seawater from base unit and move this outside
Remove seawater ingress pipe from base
Remove waste pipe and joker valve.
Unscrew base from boat and cut wires
Replace base unit install waste, seawater and electric with heat shrink waterproof connections.
Then install bowl
Careful not to over tighten fittings.
Seacock on and test for leaks.
Success!

Was way better than i expected!
