Hello

If anyone has replaced the very tiny and inaccessible Racor filter with a larger unit, perhaps with a see-through bowl, could you provide the new Racor model number, location and pictures if possible? Thanks!

Install a Racor 500MA so that it feeds over the top of the little racor (not through it). This will increase the fuel flow capabilities from a paltry 15 GPH to 60 GPH. Make sure that you purchase the hose fittings from the racor dealer as the are not NPT fittings. Utilize the smaller Racor filter to feed the generator. I highly recommend that you install a fuel shut off valve in the main fuel line from the tank to eliminate any possibility of fuel siphoning to the bilge during a filter change.

I installed the Racor fuel filter that Henry shows here, then I used the small original filter for the generator. My filter is on a bracket in front of the holding tank and the small original filter is on the bulkhead next to the generator (in the engine compartment). Both filters are very accessable. I talked with Cummins N.W before installing this filter and they were very much in favor of this upgraded filter system.

Thanks so much for the Racor info, and the pictures. My Cummins Dealer out here in VA is not very helpful, but I do have someone that can make the change you described.
