Resetting Garmin 8612 GPS to my Active Captain Account.

I bought a used Ranger Tug with Garmin GPSMAP 8612/8616-series equipment. I factory-reset the chartplotter using Delete Data and Reset Settings, but when the Garmin network is reconnected, ActiveCaptain still shows the previous owner's email address. I need to completely remove the previous ActiveCaptain owner and register the system to my ActiveCaptain account without wiping the configuration of my Reactor 40, radar, VHF, sonar, or other network devices. I have already backed up my user data.

Call Garmin support. Give them the serial number off your 8612 and they'll remove the email address associated with your chartplotter so you can re-register. They will most likely need the serial numbers off your autopilot and radar as well. All that can be found in ActiveCaptain.
