I haven't been on the forum in quite some time but poking around again as I ordered a new 288 and will take delivery in late spring! Looked around at a bunch of boats but, for the money, nothing beats the 288. The twin Yammies and the 10 ft beam sold me. Things we're most excited about: more space and a fully enclosed head LOL.

Selling my brand-new trailer- it's on the "for sale" page. Literally never used it.

PS- we have the name but is it bad luck to reveal pre-Christening??

Thanks Ed- we're excited.I've been aboard one but the wife hasn't- she'll see it at the Seattle Boat show. QQ: My C24 inverter, well, sucks. Mine is a 2020- is the n inverter any better? Meaning- will it power the grill and/or microwave? Mine barely does the microwave or coffee maker- even with everything else shut off.

Yes, it will power the electric grill, I was trolling down the Columbia at 3 mph with three poles out and three burgers on the grill. It does have issues if you have the water heater on (oops) as well as the grill. I haven’t tried it while on the hook yet.

My keurig and microwave work fine on the inverter

Pet peeve list

Solar controller buried deep in the aft mid bay wall so deep I can’t see the status
Had a few screws come loose after the rendezvous (aft boarding ladder, head handle, starboard speaker, and midbay hydraulic lifter)
I still haven’t figured out where the actual inverter is located yet

On the plus side, the manual has been published

The only serious issue I’ve had is the wabasto heater exhaust was incorrectly plumbed. I talked to another c-288 owner that also had issues with the exhaust, but I can’t remember his name.

I have the dual Garmin screens, I love them

There is now a dinghy lift available, am exploring adding it to my boat

Thanks for the info- good to know. I used to carry a generator when on the hook for the grill. I opted for the extra screen and weather antenna as well. If I had kept my C24 I was going to relocate the Heater control to the helm or somewhere else...pain in the a$$ getting to it midberth so I feel your pain on the battery display.

Having 2' extra beam is going to make the midberth usable- our dog sleeps in there now but we do have a 16 yo that might actually go cruise with us with proper berthing 🙂.

And now to buy yachtbedding again...ouch.

The heater controls on your boat should be Bluetooth enabled
