Hi,
I have a 2010 R29 with a mase generator and when I try to use in the reverse polarity light comes on. Not sure what’s wrong or what to check so any suggestions would be helpful. It was working fine and then reverse poultry light came on. The power meter in AC panel shows some current and when I turn on breakers the meter goes down. One last thing might be connected the selected switch for shore, inverter and generator was very hard to turn usually no effort but seemed stuck in shore power. Took some effort to turn and now works as it should.

Thanks in advance for any help.

Sounds like a good place to start. Pull the panel and inspect the Blue sea rotary. switch for proper operation.
This is one of many Blue Sea switches. If this is not the switch on your boat go to the Blue Sea web site and you will find the right switch used on your boat. Use the schematic to confirm the switch is operating properly.

Hi boaty,

Looks like you may have your answer in the issue with the rotary switch, as Brian mentioned. Sounds like that the connections at the switch may be the culprit. In situations like these, when everything was working fine for years and then suddenly not, it's usually a mechanical moving part that has failed as opposed to a solid connection that never moves. In this case I would start with the rotary switch and work from there. Also check the ELCI to make sure that is not the issue. Hope this helps.

Cheers,

Ralf
