I would like to put a Rocna 15 anchor on my 2014 Cutwater 28. Has anyone been successful in making this anchor work on the C 28?

I have the original Rocna 10 kg on our 2017 C-28. Required a bigger Kingston KR-1015 bow roller to get clearance from the anchor’s sharp tip and the hull. Plenty of clearance between anchor and hull now. But the bigger bow roller means less clearance between the bow roller+anchor and the top of winch mast on the EZ Loader trailer. The solution for me is to move the anchor onto the deck of the bow when launching and retrieving. That works, just an extra couple of steps involved.
I’m not sure how I would make a Rocna 15 fit everything. We have not had any issues with the Rocna 10 kg at anchor.

PS: I have serious doubts about the new Rocna II or the Vulcan anchors fitting on the C-28 due to the limited vertical space in the bow roller tunnel. The arched spine of those anchors is just too tall.

We upgraded to the Rocna 15 on our R27 Classic. It fits fine. Others use the 10 but I’m glad we have the bigger one.

thanks, I think I will go with the Rocna 10 due to size issues. I do think the 10 is a bit small for this boat.

I installed the Roman 10 on my 2016 C-28. I have liked it and have never had any issues with it dragging. That said I have not had any bad winds or waves while at anchor. To keep the point from hitting the Stainless Steel plate on the front of the boat I installed a 1/2” stainless Steel bolt through the tunnel above the chain and thus above the anchor shank when it is retrieved. This holds the shank down and the point cannot hit the plate. I installed a clear vinyl hose over the bolt as well. The nice thing is the anchor wedges under the bolt when fully retrieved and it snugs it in nicely and stops any rattle. No other modifications were required to the roller. The only down side I have is because the anchor is snugged in I sometimes have to give it a little nudge to deploy it.
Another option is to install a Mantus Marine Anchor Guard to stop the point from hitting. I know some others have used that option.
Contact me if you would like a photo of my bolt option. It takes a right angle drill to drill the holes for the bolt.

Silly spell check changed my “Rocna 10” to a Roman 10.
