Good Day All,
During a checkout cruise of our new-to-us R23 Diesel, our dealer (who has sold lots of R23s) noted: "It rides much nicer in rougher water than the OB models. Must be the weight/lower center of gravity with the diesel that does it."
I thought it an interesting comment. I would think the improvement he noticed is also influenced by the location of the engine CG along the centerline of the boat. On the R23 Diesel, it is a few feet inboard of the transom. On the R23 OB, a few feet aft of the transom.
Thought you all might find his thoughts interesting.
