I have a 2009 R-25 Classic. It’s been running so beautifully. It has a Cummins/mercruiser 2.0. I was wondering if anybody had any comments about what rpm they like to cruise at.
I’d also like to explore the idea of flushing, or washing out the air conditioner after being in salt water. Does anybody have a method or a way of flushing the system of the salt water.
I can’t seem to find where the intake is for the air conditioning unit.
Our stern deck rug is leaving rubber on the deck. Any thoughts as to a remedy?
Thanks,
Kevin and Katherine/Wildest Dreams

Can't comment on the RPM. As far as rinsing the A/C after use, if it is out of the water you can easily backflush it by opening the seacock and use a garden hose pushed up against the thru hull at the bow. Water will exit the raw water pickup. If in the water close the seacock, remove screen, have person at A/C switch, put fresh water hose into intake side and run water and have other person turn on A/C and let it run a bit.
You probably need a new rug for the cockpit. The underside pad is deteriorating. Perhaps a non-skid pad placed under the existing will help avoid what is sticking to the deck.

Good afternoon -

The previous owner's shop installed a three way radiator flush tee https://www.amazon.com/APDTY-58231-Radiator-Flush-Tee/dp/B0788CKS35 in the bilge between the pump and the supply line to the AC.

Closing the thru hull valve and the tee connected to fresh water, salt-away, etc, allows me to clean out the AC and lines.

Connecting the raw water outlet in the cockpit to the tee with an open through hull valve allows me to prime the AC pump.

Many shops that winterize will use this tee to winterize the A/C.

This is on a C-242

As far as the rug rot, I painted on flex seal. Worked pretty well.
