I'm installing a rear view camera and looking for a simple way to route the wires to the back of my chart plotter.

I would like to go through the solar panel clamshell and lead to the back of the "spice rack" where the wires can drop down and lead forward. Is that a feasible options or does anyone have any other suggestion? I have installed a fish line from the back of the instruments panel to the starboard rear lazarette if I ever want to lead a wire from the stern of my boat.

If you have a tablet (iPad etc.) it is way easier and less expensive to install a simple 12v WiFi backup Camera made for automobiles. No wires to run to the dash. Just need 12volt power to the camera and a tablet to display the image at the helm. In my case I already have the iPad at the helm with Navionics as a backup chartplotter. I like that using the iPad for the rear camera negates the need to change the main chartplotter screen to the camera display and then back to the navigation chart.

Just offering an option to consider. Works well for me.

If you already have WiFi and an iPad on the boat using a Blink or Ring battery camera means you don't even need 12V power to the rear.

Thanks, I'll look into it. Bought this cheap car backing camera and works a charm but can't figure out an easy way to get the wires from the stern to the back of the instruments panel. I might just give in and get your suggestion and Red Raven's above.
