I wonder if the engines are mounted far enough apart to account for them turning towards each other during joystick operationLooked pretty cool at Boats Afloat Seattle show too. I wonder what the timeframe will be for a joystick.

They looked too close to me, good to know my eyes still work. Yamaha says 26 inches minimum center to center. They engines (F150's) are too close to each other currently to support the installation of a joystick. I know the factory is working on this, but the R27-OB's built today with twin F150's have them installed too close to support adding a joystick.
It should be an easily surmountable problem. I was just at a boat factory last week (here in FL) looking at a new 27' center console with 8 foot 8 inch beam that had a pair of 200 hp Yamahas and joystick control. We were discussing the pros and cons of electric steering when he mentioned the joystick was a 10 minute labor installation. IMO, I'd rather have hydraulic steering if I couldn't also get the joystick. The engines (F150's) are too close to each other currently to support the installation of a joystick.
