the rubber cover for the exhaust system rip off as anybody else had this happen and if so where do you find the material for a new one Or a new one. I figure if I lost one for the exhaust the one for the generator won’t be far behind

I have not been able to find a direct replacement but this works with a minor modification, drilling two holes for the correct width.
I called the factory a few times over the years and have never been able to get the exact one they use.

It's my understanding that the exhaust cover/flap is intended to prevent following seas from entering the exhaust system, or potentially when the boat is in reverse. My 2008 R-25 is not equipped with a flap, and never has been. It does have an anti-siphon loop between the muffler and the outside port that rises well above the waterline before descending to the exhaust port that is near the waterline. I have had no problems with water backing up.
At some point, Fluid Motion seems to have added this feature. It would be interesting to learn from the factory what was the rationale for this decision.
