I am getting my R25sc ready for launching and I am checking and servicing things. I cannot get the rudder shaft housing to take grease although the rudder turns freely, ideas ?

Dave, on our 2009 R25 classic I have a zerk fitting on the shaft which I access through the inspection panel mounted in the aft storage area under the cooler/bait box. I assume the 25SC would have the same fitting and if that is where you are having difficulty I would think a plugged fitting. These fittings are screw in and can be remove and cleaned or replaced. Hope this helps.

Yes mine is the same I will try that tomorrow, thanks. I'll let you know how I make out.

If the zerk is not taking grease it could also mean the shaft is full. I usually attach a gun at each spring launch but have yet to see any place for grease to escape, like on an old car fitting, therefore conclude it is full when she can not take any. I defer to safe side and do not try to force so as not to rupture a seal.

I pulled the grease fitting and it was not plugged. In fact when I pulled it a fair amount of grease came back at me telling me the grease cavity was full and pressured up. I replaced the fitting and pumped a few shots in until it started to pressure up again. I cannot believe the seals held the amount of pressure I first put on them. Thanks guys.
