I am trying to run new wiring on my new to me 2008 R25, from the mast to the helm area, for a new spotlight and Garmin radar. I have a few questions and would appreciate any tips:

1) When I take off the fibreglass stack and mast base what will I see? Is there any chance to fish wiring over to the starboard side of the cabin without removing the ceiling finish?
2) If I need to remove the ceiling finish what is the procedure?
3) When I run the wires down the wall behind the trim channel can it be fished to the helm area?

If there are any pics that are available that would be fantatsic.

As an aside I have some loose mouse fir that i need to reglue, what glue is best? Also I have a corner of a ceiling panel that has come loose, the screw is still there but I cannot get it to screw into anything beind the celing panel. What was it fastened to and what is a simple method to reattach?

Thanks in advance for any help

Hello Metric Rider
Its been a few days since your post, so have you made any progress?
Here with some of my observation about fishing wires over-head in an R25.
My answers are in caps so you can more easily read among the text of your questions.

1) When I take off the fibreglass stack and mast base what will I see? Is there any chance to fish wiring over to the starboard side of the cabin without removing the ceiling finish? YOU'LL SEE WIRES AND INSULATION. YES, YOU WILL BE ABLE TO MOVE WIRES TO THE STARBOARD SIDE THEN DOWN THE WALL BEHIND THE WOODWORK AROUND THE PORT HOLE. YOU WILL HAVE TO REMOVE (JUST THE FRONT EDGE OF THE CEILING PANEL). TO DO THIS YOU WILL HAVE TO FLIP OFF THE PLASTIC COVERS (use a small flat blade screwdriver) ON THE FASTENING SCREWS.

2) If I need to remove the ceiling finish what is the procedure? MAYBE NOT BUT YOU WILL HAVE TO REMOVE THE STARBOARD WOODWORK TO FISH THE LINE DOWN TO BELOW WINDOW LEVEL.

3) When I run the wires down the wall behind the trim channel can it be fished to the helm area? IF YOU GET THE WIRE DOWN TO BELOW WINDOW LEVEL THEN IT IS A MATTER OF FISHING THE WIRE FORWARD TO THE HELM.

I hope this helps you out. I know its quite a pain getting the wires fished through the R25 walls.

Bob
