I'm removing and replacing marine batteries. Has anyone ever seen or heard of a 'new dielectric grease' developed for freshwater / "Saltwater" Conditions? I think I'll lightly dab the grease on as many open electrical contacts as possible. One rusty connection or two from highly corrosive saltwater could become a big headache.

Lady Jane, I'm not familiar with a dielectric grease for fresh/salt water use although there may be one out there. I have used a product called CRC battery protectant you spray on the battery terminals to prevent corrosion. I installed 2 new batteries 2 years ago and applied the CRC spray protectant. The terminals still look brand new.
Cheers!

I use Corrosion Block, available at most auto parts stores, on everything electrical. A few squirts and you are golden. I do not like any type of grease because it holds dirt and grit and it is a bit messy when work is required.

I don't know about "new" but silicone based dielectric grease works great. As Mike mentioned it's a pain to work with and anything that gets near it sticks to it, but it works like a champ at repelling water and preventing corrosion.
