On the R-27 OB, with factory installed downrigger pads and electric... Those electrical outlets used to power the downriggers. What is the max amperage provided by those outlets? (what size is the breaker or fuse inline)? Are those outlets wired with 6, 8, 10, or 12 gauge wire?

On my C-242 they are 40a /10 ga per the manual.

Per the RT-27OB manual, they are the same. 40a fuse, 10ga wire.

@Submariner - I am making the assumption that you were asking about this as a potential power source for your pot puller? From your videos, I think you have the Safe-T-Puller, and their instructions say "These wires should be 10-gauge wire for
models 1100 and 1600 or 8-gauge wire for the 2100." Did you end up using the downrigger plug to power your potpuller, or did you run new wires? Either way, did you add additional fuses/circuit breakers/switches/etc?

Side note - do you like the Safe-T-Puller? Does the powerhead hanging off the davit reduce the height that the traps can be pulled up so they dont clear the side of the boat?

I did end up using the Scotty down-rigger outlet for the pot puller. I have the 1100 saf-t-puller. I’ve only blown the 40 amp fuse once and that’s cause I got the shrimp pot hung up on a ledge and was trying to drag the pot uphill and ended up anchoring the boat via the shrimp pot.

I really like the saf-t-puller and the davit. I make my harnesses longer so the pot doesn’t come completely out of the water. If the boats rocking and the pot comes out of the water I didn’t want it to swing and hit the boat like a wrecking ball.

This shrimping video illustrates how I use the pot puller and bring the pot into the boat. It’s probably the best illustration in that my shrimp pots are 30lbs before the shrimp go in it.
