We've had an intermittent issue with waste odor and toilet churning, but not vacating the bowl in our new-to-us R29 Classic. I installed a joker valve at the toilet outlet because the Tecma manual shows one, but also noticed there's a hinged non-return valve at the tank. I've confirmed there's no vent blockage, and the discharge line at the toilet end looked very clean when I've had it apart. So I'm fairly certain either the non-return valve or the discharge hose itself is partially blocked, and I'm planning to just replace the entire length, eliminating the non-return valve since I now have a joker valve at the toilet. While I'm down there, I'm going to replace the entire vent line so I have a known good baseline.

I'll do this job with an empty holding tank after having done several water-only flushes to hopefully eliminate any unpleasant surprises. But I see the fittings all have some kind of sealant in addition to the hose clamps. Does anyone know what kind of sealant to use for this job that is compatible with the tank and hoses?

I asked the same question as I need to change my macerator pump: basically just a quality silicone. I will use GE clear.
