This was in an R-25SC - perfect boat for fishing and cruising. I installed a thru-hull transducer.
It was very difficult. One, the path to route the cable from the helm to the aft section is not strait and requires going vertically through a hole in the floor that is already crowded with pipes, tubes and wires. Two, there is no place to mount it directly on the bottom of the boat. To make the lazarettes dryer RT has installed a floor in each one. There is several inches to the actual bottom of the boat. I finally located a spot that I could access from the cabinet in the head. Pictures below.
I had to use some small blocks of wood to temporarily lift and shift all those wires and tubes out of the way. The box on the right is a bilge pump.
In the last photo, the Garmin GPS is displaying two transducers, one at 400khz (original Airmar) and one at 50khz. (Garmin GT15M CHIRP)
