Next week, we are heading to take a look at moving up to a R29cb. We remain undecided because of the many trade-offs, so who knows how things will turn out. We have a buyer for the R27, but were thinking that it might be very attractive to someone to buy a total package: boat, trailer, and the right truck (2004 Dodge Ram Diesel 4x4) to haul it all. IF we get the 29cb, we are not going to trailer it and it gets hard to rationalize keeping the truck (it most surely is not a San Francisco Bay Area commuter).

Has anyone done this? Either as a seller or buyer? Is it even worth the hassle? I look back on our extended adventure of getting the boat, trailer and truck, and would have welcomed just getting the whole package, with assurances that the truck was rigged, ready and appropriate for the job so I could just head out and boat right away.

Advice, even criticism, is welcome as always.

For a buyer it would be a great deal. However you would be doing better with an individual sale of each component. You would appeal to more buyers if you look at a fast sale. You might get stuck with the trailer for a while but if you advertise on tugnuts it might go fast. Even if one does not trailer, using the trailer as a cradle for shore storage is, in my opinion, preferable over stands and blocks. Never trusted them to hold a boat securely over a lengthy period of time. Load is also better distributed on trailer then on stands

2004 ram is a great truck, little under featured for pulling a 27. I just upgraded mine to 2013 6.7 with Jake brake (standard) and 6 speed tranny. The 4 speed is a bit challenged with the load (unless yours is a 5 speed manual). Having an exhaust break is a relief when you go up and down slopes

Thanks. It is tempting to try to do a single deal rather than goofing around with multiple deals.
And of course, I really like the truck (pulls our 27 to the PNW and back just fine, but I'm glad we have electric over hydraulic brakes). I might just find a way to rationalize keeping it since its so solid. After all, I rationalized getting a boat and that is one whopper of a rationalization!

I think it is possible to sell the whole rig but it implies the buyer knows all of the issues ahead of time (unlikely) in matching all of the components together to make a workable system. Probably your buyer would have to be someone who has already owned a boat, trailer and truck and knows how they all need to work together. Had I known what I know now I would be a potential buyer rather than buying separate parts.
