Serial numbers

Does anybody know if manufacturer documented serial numbers of electronics during assembly?

Not to excited about pulling boxes for this info.

I have my phone connected to my boat with Active Captain. When I open the app I can go to the boat app icon and select My marine devices. Then I can see all my connected devices unit ID numbers. I assume those numbers are a sort of serial number.

I could be wrong but worth checking it out.

I just logged into my Garmin account number online and found my serial numbers for all devices.
Those numbers are different than the numbers on the Active Captain app.

The garmin answers seem spot on, and I believe the VHF radio has it buried several menus deep.
