I don't own a Ranger...my tug is a Seahorse 22 (1980) but they are similar in both size and function... I have owned the tug for roughly 30 plus years..... I just installed a new Kubota diesel and added a flexible shaft coupler..(about $150).... it is amazing at what a difference it made... my diesel alignment is within .002 ..so it is pretty true...and the coupler says it will adapt to as much as .008" misalignment ..but what it really does that I love is remove vibration...not all, but at least half of the normal shaft vibration...it is pretty amazing....
