Shift problem

I have a 2013 R27 and had shift problems. Vessel would not go into forward or reverse. Mechanic said it was a sticky valve issue. Any suggestions?

If you have the electronic ZF transmission, check the connections. I had this once and found the wires disconnected. I probably hit them with my foot while doing some maintenance.
