We have a r27 and were wondering if it would fit in a 40' shipping container (on the trailer). I can find measurements but cannot find the air draft without loading it up. Also, what size generator is required power the hot water tank?

R27 Classic or OB?

Curt

Sorry, can’t help on that one.

Hello,

Here are some measurements to look at:

Length overall on trailer engine down: 38ft 8in
Length overall on trailer engine up: 40ft 7in
Height on trailer: 11ft 5in
Width w/o trailer: 8ft 6in

I would say if the container is 40ft long and over 12ft tall you should be good but tight. Typically a Yamaha 2000 is great, here is a link to the generator I would recommend as it would power everything onboard.

Thanks,

Kevin: That 2000 watt Yamaha generator looks very nice and a decent price.... Thanks for sharing that ref. 😀

Thank you Kevin! I am looking into shipping ours to the carribean and it looks like a shipping container would be very affordable.
On the generator, would I get an adapter and plug it right into the shore power connection?

When we shipped an airplane (1 of 3 in the container) from Germany to Long Beach, CA in the early 1980’s the interior dimensions of the 40 ft Land/Sea shipping container we used was less than 8 ft wide and well under 9 ft tall. Have the shipping containers gotten wider and taller since then?

the height will work,6" under, but the width is 8"over

Your typical shipping container is 8' W x 8'-6" H
High cubes are 8' W x 9'-6" H
They come in 10', 20', 40 and 53' lengths

Not even close. UShipto Florida is your best alternative - if you have a trailer.
