I don't know the layout on your boat. After talking to the experts at PBH I was told the galvanic isolator should be as close to the shore power receptacle as possible. This followed the instructions that came with the GI.
We have an R 25 SC and the shore power comes first to the ELCI. The back of this unit where the wiring is accessible is located in the battery locker but there was not enough room to install the galvanic isolator in that location. To solve the problem I located the isolator in the adjacent locker that has the face of the ELCI, the battery switches, fuse blocks etc.. I then extended the ground wire coming from the shore power receptacle so that I could feed it through into this locker and to the isolator. I then took a wire from the other end of the isolator back through to the rear of the ELCI and connected where the original ground came from the shore power receptacle. You can see a couple of photos of the installation in my album in the folder about modifications.
