Hi there,
First post, been following this site for a few months... We are the proud new owners of a 2013 R-27, we named Epic Dream. The boat is currently at Skyline Marina. We were lucky enough to get out of CA for a few days and enjoy this gorgeous weather ( it's way hotter in Southern California).

We are time limited and looking for some ideas for some quick 1/2 day trips to explore some local sites, anchorages, explore on shore, etc...Thought we would reach out for some local knowledge.

We will be returning in September for the Roche Harbor rendezvous and looking forward to meeting fellow owners.

Thanks,
jeff & jill

Grab a copy of the Dreamspeaker cruising guide book for the San Juan Islands. Everything in the San Juans is less than a half day travel ...

Happy Boating!!

Hi Jill & Jeff:

Welcome ...we look forward to meeting you in Roche Harbor.

A couple of our favorite and scenic moorages close to Anacortes are Eagle Harbor on the East side of Cypress Island and Watmough Bay, down Rosario Strait on the SE corner of Lopez Island. Both have mooring buoys. (Shallow depth and eel grass make anchoring difficult in Eagle Harbor; It's recommended that you anchor closer to the head of the bay in Watmough Bay to avoid the eel grass there.)

As Sue mentioned, there are lots of other options. The Waggoner's Guide is a great reference. You can download a trial copy at http://waggonerguide.com/download-the-2015-waggoner-cruising-guide/.

Enjoy!

Welcome Jill&Jeff. We are moored at Channel Islands Landing and live in Oxnard.

Go over to LaConner, tie up at one of the public docks and have some ice cream. it's easier to dock against the current . 😀
