Does anyone know how the shower drain is attached to the bottom of the shower pan? I’m going to remove my shower sump and install a whale gulley IC gray water pump that activates when it senses water and pumps the gray water right overboard. I’m tired of the smelly shower sump and flaky float switches…

Bumping this up... Anyone have any insight here on how best to remove the existing drain and the cutout size?

Several years ago, I purchased a whale pump like this to use in dewatering the cavity around the aft thruster. Just after the warranty expired I returned it to whale because of a cracked case caused by a bulging around the motor. whale refused to honor their warranty because they said it was out of date. Let the buyer beware 😱

Thanks for the word of caution. Hopefully this is a better experience. it seems like after further research the cutout size requirement in the drain is 48mm (1.88"). I suppose the only way i'll be able to really tell is removing the existing one...
