One issue I have expereinced is that my R25 is slightly over 12 feet above the water (fresh water about 12'2") and almpst all of the marinas in my area use the same prefab type flooting covered docks. My boat will fit easily into a 20-30 foot covered slip (10-12 feet wide) but only with the mast lowered. In ordered to go & come with leaving the mast up I have to use a slip with the big boys. I have found the height deceiving. When going to a new marina I get routed to smaller slips and larger cruisers will appear to fit under the slip cover but my boat will not. The tug is actually taller than other boats of comparable size. Make sure that you measure the cover height before making a deal

The roof height issue also exists with the R21EC. I'm in a larger slip than I need, but the boat wouldn't fit under the roof of the smaller slips.

It may also pay to go "long". I don't know the exposure in your expected moorings but what makes for great clearance for the swim platform on weekends so Mamma and the dogs can get aboard is rotten in a storm.
We were in a large marina after Hurricane Opal and divers were recovering swim platforms from the bottom for almost a week. Most people did not think to adjust their spring lines to move the boats forward and the piers snapped off nearly every swim platform in the marina. As in this case, having the room doesn't mean careless or thoughtless boaters will use it, but not having it makes it impossible.
As a matter of fact we found two teak platforms floating in Pensacola Bay a few days after the storm. One became cabinetry in our Atlantic 44 and the nicest one is now a 6' 8" coffee table in our living room.

The overall length with a dingy on the back is about 34 to 35 feet. We have a 36 foot slip and our R-29 (with our dingy mounted on the rear of swim step) fits great with room to spare.
