I'd like to have a small tv on my R25 - primarily to pick up local news and weather. Do any of you have a model you'd recommend? What about antenna? If not portable, what kind of mount do you use?

CaptD, I noticed you have the Naxa 13.5. I had looked at it a couple of times at truck stops. Have you been satisfied with it?

Thanks all. Appreciate any input. . .

Just came back from a trip bought a Coby 7" for $38 has built in battery ,external antenna 110v and 12v power cords included picture was good I also hooked it up to a DVD player with a small inverter and was very happy.

I know they make bigger 12v tvs but I have the big screen small space covered.

Being a techno junkie I also brought a Pico projector the size of a pack of playing cards and a screen made out of a window shade and watched a movie at 40" screen size with the audio piped in to the boats high quality sound system with a 10" 250 watt JBL subwoofer installed under the sink cabinet .

It needs to be fairly dark and not too windy as to ripple the screen.

Watched a Movie anchored on Largo Sound Key Largo Florida

I did a small digital tv that shares duty between the boat and the camper. Not high end at all but will pick up the digital signals within reason. The antenna is a set of rabbit ears from some portable set of the past mounted on a wood stick and line comes in the window. Very basic but does usually get a channel or two. The TV set was from Wallgrens a couple of years back and was 99 dollars. I set it up use it and back into the storage locker. Runs of of the 12 main power plug that I would normally use for the computer. Bob Heselberg in Eatonville Wa

Yup, I got two of them.
they are DVD and cd players as well . 12 volts. Kind of spendy but well worth it. Not good for viewing from the side but in the boat it is no problem. That is why the power draw is very low.
