Solar has quit working on our R-27. Remote meter is showing 30. Can’t locate the solar controller.
We are not a NW edition. There is a generator in that position. Thanks for trying to help.It sounds like you have a NW edition, your solar controller is the starboard lazarette, aft, starboard side. Next to the engine starting battery.
You haven’t indicated what year your R27 is. Do you have the classic R27 with a diesel inboard, or an R27 with an outboard engine? The device you’re most likely looking for will say “SunSaver Duo” on it.Sorry. Our generator is on the port side, but so are all of our batteries. The controller on the starboard side is for the autopilot.
Thank you for your help. Our problem has been solved! You haven’t indicated what year your R27 is. Do you have the classic R27 with a diesel inboard, or an R27 with an outboard engine? The device you’re most likely looking for will say “SunSaver Duo” on it.
It probably looks similar to this.
I have the sunsaver, and had fault lights, so pulled all the wires, and reset for 90% house, and 10% #2 battery. Solved all the problems for my 12 V solar. Best deal was zero cost. Don't worry about windless/thruster battery as Engine is always running when that battery is used.if you do have sunsaver please do change it out for a blue victron MPPT controller. the sunsaver is losing you power as a PWM type device.
Thanks for the suggestion. With the help o a fellow Ranger Tug owner we solved our problem.if you do have sunsaver please do change it out for a blue victron MPPT controller. the sunsaver is losing you power as a PWM type device.
