One of the current leaders in LED Navigation and Interior lighting is a company by the name of 'MarineBeam.com'. The owner and innovator ( Jeff Field) has many years of experience in the high tech LED industry and thus, is a very well qualified supplier. In addition, Jeff is a Beneteau SailBoat Owner.

After a long and most interesting conversation with him this morning ... he was kind enough to extend a generous discount offer, to our RangerTug group.

Our Andrew Custis, suggested I pass the information ( below) on...

Thanks for posting the info on Marinebeam Pete.
I just want to add that I have a 44mm LED anchor light from Marinebeam that was a direct replacement for the one Ranger supplies.
When I got it I waited till night to install it. It was as easy as twisting off the anchor light dome and pulling out the 10W bulb and putting in the new 2.5W LED. I may add that you can get anchor lights that have a two mile visibility that burn only 1w. Mac LaMay may be able to answer any questions on that.
I was amazed on how much brighter it was then the one I took out. I will keep my old one as a spare.
Just changing a anchor light can reduce your power consumption by quite a bit.

Even know we have solar and we also have one heck of a battery bank that we upgraded to, We always go into power management when we leave the dock. It is kind of a fun game we play. We switch to using LED lighting when at anchor and being aware of the power we are using. I have made it easier by adding a linkpro battery monitor.
I always know what the state of my batteries are now. If i turn something on I can look at the gauge and know how many amp hours it is drawing from my system. It also has warnings if I get close to the 50% range on my batteries. You never want to drain your batteries less then 50%. This will diminish the life of your batteries greatly.
What is really fun is to wake up in the morning and look at the linkpro and see that I have used 9% on my batteries and used 35AH. Now the fun part is to watch the batteries come back to full just sitting there with the solar.
Because we have the two 130W solar panels on top it does not take long to fill up. We do not need to listen to a motor running during breakfast. We get to enjoy the quiet and the free power. 😀
For people that do not like to spend much time out on the hook this all may not be of real interest to them, but for those who do it is really a exciting world to jump into.
We are able to use our laptops, radio,tv,tracvision and much more while at anchor and get renewed each day. Even if the solar is not able to charge due to bad weather, We have designed our system to last for many days without recharging. I do want to say that even on cloudy days the panels are still producing 🙂
I want to thank Mac LaMay for starting all this back when he got his Range 25. We were able to model our system after his and have the factory pre-wire for the install and make some other small improvements.
Thanks again to Pete for posting marinebeams info. I hope people can catch the excitement bug of power management. It's got me tickled.

Stuart..... Spirit of Gratitude 😎
