I've detached the thruster remote from its switch and intend to use the switch for a defrost fan. So far, I've attached the fan's positive wire to the device terminal on the switch and the negative to the buss at the bottom of the fuse block. I know little about these things so was pleasantly surprised when the fan responded to the switch. It would probably be a good idea if there was a fuse some where in the circuit and I see there is a spare below the diesel heater fuse in the block. I'm wondering if and how this spare could be incorporated into the fan circuit; otherwise, I suppose I could use an in line fuse. Thanks

The switch you used is actually breaker protected. I would check and see what size breaker is needed for the fan and if it is too big, use an inline fuse at the suggested size.

Thank you!
