Has anyone upgraded the stock Fusion speakers? I'm thinking about trying to find something better for my C28. The stock speakers are just ok when anchored or at the slip, but not very good when underway. Looking for something with a little more punch and ability to handle louder volume settings without distorting badly. Looking for both cockpit and cabin options.

Thanks!

Just my opinion but I replaced our four older Clarion speakers with JL Audio speakers. Went with MX650 which fit right into the existing cutout. Good sound - much better than the Clarion. JL Audio also make a 7” speaker that supposedly sounds even better but that requires expanded cutouts.
The Polk marine speakers get good reviews too.
If you want full base you would need to add an additional subwoofer with amp which would drain the house battery when not on shore power.

Hi Eric9603,

I added the Dual tbx10a amplified subwoofer from Walmart. It sits on the shelf above the microwave and has a couple of L brackets screwed into the wood. The box leans slightly forward but in doing this I did not have to cut any existing woodwork. The fusion stereo in my 2012 28 has the switching lead and so does the sub. This way it shuts off with the radio. It sometimes needs a little adjustment to balance it correctly but for 80 bucks you cant go wrong. The existing speakers weren't bad, they were just lacking the low end and this is a good compromise.
