Good Afternoon:

Does anyone know the location of the high water alarm on the 2018 R-29S?

Thanks!

Mike

On the 2015 it is to the right of the helm next to the engine start bottoms.

Thanks much - same location on my Tug.

But where is the alarm sensor located? Assume it is in the engine room but I don't know where.

Thanks Mike.

I found the electronic float switch - is this also the high water alarm sensor? I thought the two were separate.

Mike

On my boat, there are 2 seemingly identical electronic sensors attached to the forward bilge pump. I was told that the 2nd one is the sensor for the high water alarm.

It's probably different on our 2009 29 - ours is the identical Johnson electronic switch as the one used and mounted to the forward bilge pump. It's convenient because you can test it by placing a finger in the two circles. I've had to replace the forward bilge switch. Our high water alarm switch is probably mounted too high and should be closer to the forward pump switch height. If the forward pump is kicking in I'd like to know there is an issue with the rear pump.

There should be two, one is for the pump, the other for the alarm.

Well......I had my aha moment and figured it out.

The forward bilge pump is a Rule 1100 with a built-in float switch that checks for water every 2.5 minutes. Aha - then why is there a float switch for a bilge pump that doesn't require it? After tracing wires thru the bundle, I found that it wasn't connected to the bilge pump. When I put my fingers on the float switch, the alarm went on.

And my apprenticeship on Ranger Tugs continues!!
