Starboard leaning when tied up at dock

I've notice that my R25 leans over to starboard when it's tied up in my slip. This is when nobody is onboard. The starboard side is tied and is alongside the slip. I compared the water line on both sides and find that there's about a 1.5" difference with the starboard side being more in the water. The lines were slack at the time I made this observation, and there was no wind blowing on port side.

I would have thought that with the 4 batteries on the port side the boat would lean more to its port side

Is there some weight on the starboard side that I'm missing that would cause the boat to lean to starboard when stationary ?

Fuel tank is 51% full and fresh water tank is full with 30 gallons. The waste tank is 1/4 full.

I have my Portland Pudgy dinghy installed on swim step in near-vertical position. The starboard leaning was observed prior to installing the dinghy.

I have little weight (maybe 60 lbs) in cockpit's starboard locker. My Wallas stove's tank is almost full and is located forward in the cockpit's starboard locker as installed by factory.

Refrigerator has just 4 small bottles of water in it.

The bilge is dry. 😛

Barry, More than likely it is just the cumulative effect of the galley, the wallas tank, the storage in the head. All of this adds up.

Take a look at what you have in the galley cupboards. What is under the sink in the head? You can more than likely level it out by getting about 60 to 70 pounds moved over to the port side.

We had to move just over 300 pounds from port to starboard on Karma when we got her. (It was my extra anchors that was throwing her off) The way I determined I needed to move 300 pounds was Andrew and I both stood on the starboard side. Our combined weight was 300 pounds. Karma sat level with both of us standing on the starboard side. Then it was just a matter of moving things around.

Every time you add or remove something of any substance, you will more than likely have to re balance..... We hung the outboard for the dinghy on the port side, had to move the Kayak to the starboard side....

Strange, The Lucky Fin and the Mis Dee both heeled to the port. Batteries and genset are on that side. Never heard of a Ranger 25 heeling to the Starboard. Fuel , water, and holding are in the middle of the boat.
Put your canned goods and all heavy stuff in the cave . You need to move your ballast so you are comfortable. I went so far as to add lead weight on the Mis Dee. A couple hundred pounds. Extra weight costs more fuel and speed. I hate the boat not being trimmed out. :x Moving is no problems for the tabs work well.

if you find out what caused this let us know as we might use the knowledge to solve our normal Port list. I have been trying to solve my Port List issue since I got my R25. I assume the original boat design would sit with no list until the 4th battery, Genset & AC were added. I took everything out of the mid-cabin, added extra water in starboard storage, 2nd ancgor & all heavy stored items to Starboard side but still have a Port list. I believe most of our boats have the same issue.

I do believe I've found the cause of my starboard list...

Recently I added/installed a Portland Pudgy dinghy on the swim step. The stern of the PP is on the starboard side. The PP weighs in at around 150 lbs and a large fraction of this is in the aft portion of the dinghy. This I believe results in the R25 listing to starboard as if I recall it did not prior to installing the dinghy.

I will check this by installing the dinghy the other way round -- which is easy for the PP as it has built-in davit holes on both port and starboard sides.

With the R25 listing to starboard while docked yesterday I had my son stand on the port side of the cockpit and the R25 was level. As he weighs in at around 160 lbs I assume by shifting some 80 lbs from starboard to port the R25 should then be on an even keel. 😀 I will post back what I discover.
