Steadying sail?

can the 21ec mast be fitted with a steadying sail? Without a boom, I'm not sure how. The mast adds a ton of character and space for radar/antenna/equipment, and a place to fly a flag or two. I was wondering about steadying sails or aux sail...have not come across anyone with one other than the non-ec 21.
 
also, i was looking at kits that you could use to attach flag halyards to each speader...has anyone done this cleanly with some pics??
