Step Modification

In order to provide better access to the engine and make the replacement of the timing belt easier member GigPilot has modified the step in the cabin. You can see photos in his posting of July 4 this year. The step is replaced with a wooden replacement. My question is whether this step is a structural part of the bulkhead and should not be compromised. Your comments very much appreciated as this would seem a no-brainer for easier maintenence. Thanks

That step is not structural and that modification should be ok to do.
