It's me again -- the Newbee. Let me make sure I have something right. I don't find a separate stern light as part of the nav lights. So does that mean the anchor light functions as part of the nav light system (front part steaming light, back part stern light) along with the red and green lights? When at anchor, it becomes an anchor light and the red and green lights are turned off. Is this correct?

Hello Colburnp,

Yes, the anchor light is part of your Nav light system. The Nav light switch is a three position switch, up= anchor and running lights, middle= off (for all nav lights), and down= anchor light only. The anchor light is visible 360 degrees so there is no need for a stern light.

Thanks,
-Kenny

Thanks Kenny. I expect if I searched long enough I might have found that information in the owner's manual. She's hauled out at the yard now (for her inaugural bottom job) so looking at the switch would be a bit difficult. Now I know how the masthead light/anchor light works with/without the running lights. Clever design! Cheers, Patrece
