We joined this forum about six months ago and have thoroughly enjoyed it. One thing we've noticed is that a lot of topics come up over and over: the best dinghy, how to set electrical switches, issues about trailers, etc. Most folks don't try to search for previous discussions on a topic first and don't where to go to find the info.

We were wondering if it is possible to set up some "Sticky Threads" on these popular topics. Certainly, we've seen other forums do that as a way to coalesce the collective wisdom and document best practices for quick reference.

We're no experts on hosting these forums and it may not be possible with this one. We're just asking.

That's a really great suggestion! Would avoid unnecessary repetition and redundancy of messages.

Yes. The search parameters are not great unless I totally misunderstand Boolean parameters in this system. If you try a search it is not sorted by most hits etc. probably by time stamp with all the individual iterations. Not terribly helpful leading folks to just start a new post. Could be I don’t understand how it is supposed to work however.

I tend to always use the Advance Search option which gives a lot more flexibility of displaying the results.
