Help! Could anyone direct me to pics of how storage in rear berth area is used i.e. shelves or bins?
Looking to buy a R31 to do Great Loop but wife thinks lack of storage is a negative. Thank you

We have done half of the Loop so far. Two people and one Labrador dog. We have carried along way too much stuff that we never use or eat and it all fits along with the stuff that we do use or really need to keep onboard. But the boat does look cluttered. If you need everything out of sight, you do need a larger boat than we have.

We keep bulky items in the cave (bike, scooter, wagon, etc) so we haven’t found a need for additional organizational items down there. I would probably get plastic tubs if looking to store items longer-term (clothing, maintenance items, etc).

If you don’t need the wine cooler, there is a substantial amount of space in that area, if you need it.

I have an R27. I keep 3 flat bins labeled "Parts", "Electrical" and "Fasteners" shoved way forward in the cave with a long string attached to each for retrieval. A nice mod I may do that I've seen on this forum is to create a drawer or drawers in the companionway isle near the floor near the Microwave for direct access to this storage area.

Behind them I put folding chairs and a dinghy motor lower unit (electric) and other odds and ends.

Behind that stuff I've removed the chart table seat (its pretty useless and takes up valuable space) and store other assorted items: rag bag, shoes, portable bilge, etc.

Another nice storage addition is one of those shoe organizers for a door with lots of pockets for storing shoes. I fastened one to the port monkey fur wall directly beneath the cave lifting hatch. It holds all my cleaning supplies and other material out of the way but easily accessible.
