Stuck Cap on BMW Oil Filter Canister- 2011 R-27

I have a 2011 Yanmar engine 4BY2180 that uses a BMW oil filter canister with a filter insert.
I cannot get the cap to loosen. Have tried breaker bar and long socket wrench handle.

Are there any Factory suggestions on how to loosen the cap without destroying it or the filter canister?

Is this the plastic cap? It's not going to take much to destroy it.
It is sealed with an o-ring and only torqued to a very small torque. I can't remember the number so I magic-markered it on the engine cover.

Try chilling the cap with ice. I also found that sometimes a slight twist to tighten breaks the seal and then loosen.
